Meghan De Pinto-Smith

Senior Associate

Meghan is a Senior Associate, practising exclusively in Industrial Relations and Employment Law.

Meghan has worked exclusively in industrial relations and employment law at a high level for a specialist boutique Brisbane firm for the last 6 years – but has come home to settle in Mackay to be closer to family.

Meghan has a particular passion for advising large, medium and small employers on the legal and compliance issues they have to consider when managing their workers, developing policies and procedures and preparing employment contracts and enterprise agreements, to minimise their exposure to legal risks.

Meghan is regularly representing employers in the Fair Work Commission, Human Rights Commission, QCAT and the Federal Court. She has also been involved in the Fair Work Commission’s Award modernisation process, balancing the interests of the employer against union constraints.

Meghan also frequently presents seminars and webinars on employment law matters, has been involved in chairing HR Law Masterclass Conferences and has authored a number of publications.

Meghan graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 2015 before completing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Queensland University of Technology in 2016 and being admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2016.
