Cathy Cover
As a Queensland Law Society Accredited Family Law Specialist, Cathy specialises in helping clients with family law matters relating to the breakdown of both marriage and de facto relationships and also parenting matters such as the living arrangements and decision making for children.
Cathy can also assist clients who are the victims of domestic violence by obtaining and utilising domestic violence protection orders.
Cathy’s approach is tailored to the unique needs of her clients. Cathy will assist and guide you through the process of negotiating or mediating your financial and parenting matter to reach a settlement in a timely manner. There are, of course, some instances where there is no other option but to go to court. If those circumstances arise, Cathy will give you the advice you need and tirelessly represent you in your court proceedings.
She regularly presents family law seminars to clients and other professional service providers such as accountants and valuers in both the Mackay and Whitsunday regions.
Cathy also assists clients in criminal law matters from pleas of guilty to minor traffic offences to complex Trials in the District and Supreme Courts. Cathy defends clients with considered, strategic advice and assists clients through the stresses of a criminal investigation including ongoing negotiations with the relevant authorities.
Cathy attended Griffith University and has over ten years experience in both Family Law and Criminal Law.
