Specialist Areas:
Theo has lengthy experience in acting for clients, in all manner of contested matters. He has great passion and empathy with clients’ issues and the difficulties with which they are faced from time to time.
His primary area of practice is Family and Relationships Law, although he conducts many contested and litigated matters in areas ranging from employment law, large commercial disputes and body corporate matters.
He has a strong and dedicated clientele in the area of debt recovery and risk management, often adopting a philosophy of an early and certain resolution rather than the more conventional, protracted and hence expensive approach.
Theo’s clients range from individuals and family based businesses to large publicly listed companies operating across Australia. He has developed a strong connection with maritime law firms based in Piraeus, Greece and in New York.
Career Summary:
After graduating from the Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law in 1988, Theo completed his legal training under the guidance of then Chairman of the Queensland Solicitors’ Board, Mr. Jeffrey Thomson.
He attained the position of Associate Partner while working with a city – fringe based practice during the first half of the 1990’s. He then practised on his own account until June 2007, when he joined McKays as a partner.
