Harold has over 30 years experience in providing legal advice to a range of commercial and corporate clients.
His experience in management enables him to understand business objectives and help find practical solutions to client problems.
Harold’s particular interest is in Intellectual Property Law dealing with matters relating to copyright, trade marks, patents, confidential information and passing off including contracts, assignments, licensing and litigation in respect thereto. Harold is a Registered Trade Mark Attorney.
As a thespian himself and as a President of the Arts Law Centre of Queensland Inc., Harold has a particular interest in Entertainment Law providing legal assistance and advice to writers, performing artists, creators, producers and software developers.
Career Summary:
After his admission as a Solicitor in 1971 and working for a number of Brisbane firms Harold opened his own office at Capalaba where he practiced as a sole practitioner for some ten years.
He then spent two years as the CEO of a large Queensland charitable institution which included the management of the largest aged care facility in Queensland.
After returning to law he became the managing partner of a general legal practice operating from Brisbane and Beenleigh. It was during this period that his interest in Intellectual Property Law developed leading to his registration as a Registered Trade Mark Attorney.
Harold now leads McKays' Intellectual Property Law section.
