Graduate Recruitment

Commence working with us as a law clerk while completing your PLT (professional legal training) part-time or, study full-time then join us as a law clerk at the start of the work experience component of your course. A challenging work mix will include rotations in our conveyancing, litigation and commercial divisions. You will also participate in our in-house training and professional development programs.

On admission you will work as a trainee solicitor with further opportunities for rotation before you settle in your preferred area of practice.

Vacation Work Experience Programs

We offer two week voluntary placements in our Mackay office, during the summer and winter vacations. The program is designed to give you a taste of the work undertaken by our firm. While with us you will spend three or four days in three of these divisions:
· Commercial
· Litigation
· Conveyancing

Your program will include a range of activities. Here’s a sample...
Reviewing personal injury and family law files; assisting with research
on debt collection files; researching a personal injuries claim; drafting submissions for liquor licencing; attending settlements; reviewing leases.

You will also meet our trainee solicitors and law clerks who have been with the firm for a while and can share their experiences with you.

This could be a great first step in your legal career! A number of our Vacation Program participants have gone on to summer clerkships and graduate positions with us.
