Lindy specialises in all matters relating to family law and the law relating to defacto couples. She can help you come to terms with the breakdown of your relationship; help you through the trauma of divorce and advise you about how you can help your children during the break up of your relationship. She can also negotiate and resolve disputes regarding your property settlements; undertake actions raised in the children’s courts as well as utilising domestic violence protection orders. Being an experienced general lawyer means she understands other areas of law which may be related to your situation.

Career Summary:

Lindy took advantage of the reciprocal arrangements between the legal fraternity in Scotland and Queensland and attended the University of Dundee on the east coast of Scotland. After qualifying as a solicitor, she practised with two firms in Scotland and then set up her own law practice as De Groot Gill and Company in 1997.

The powerful call home became overwhelming and she returned to Australia in February 2003. Lindy was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland on 17 March 2003. Lindy worked at a national firm in Brisbane before heading up the Brisbane family law department at McKays Solicitors.

• Bachelor of Laws with Upper Second Class Honours
• Diploma in Legal Practice
• Admitted as a Solicitor to the Law Society Scotland
• Admitted as a Notary Public
• Continues on the roll of Solicitors of the Law Society Scotland
